WRITINGS
SIDELIGHTS
American author Sharon Page writes several types of romance novels: historical, erotic, and paranormal. With a degree in industrial design, Page worked for years in the structural engineering field, but since publishing her first novel, she works only part-time in part time in research and development management. The mother of two, Page has managed to write over thirty novels since her debut. “I am delighted to be writing romance, where I can share the power of love and intimacy with readers,” Page notes on her author website.
"Blood" Series
Page’s first series, “Blood,” provides erotic paranormal adventures involving vampires and vampire hunters in historical settings, primarily Regency London. The series begins with Blood Red, a “seductive tale of vampires, vampire hunters and a woman who is intrigued by two brothers,” according to Faith V. Smith in RT Book Reviews Website. More erotic adventures ensue in Blood Rose, in which a pair of vampire hunters attempt to save Serena Lark, the only living child of a vampire and a mortal. “The female protagonist is completely believable, and the two vampire-slaying heroes in her life are simply hot,” noted Rhomylly Forbes in the online RT Book Reviews.
Blood Deep is a “must-read for fans of the series,” according to Forbes in RT Book Reviews Website. With the ability to raise souls from the dead, Miranda is hunted as a witch but is saved by two vampires who want to please her sexually. A former courtesan beds a vampire to pay for her child’s medicine in Blood Wicked. Writing again in the online RT Book Reviews, Forbes commented: “A thrilling, intrigue-filled plot and a hero worth dying for make this one a keeper.” Blood Secret finds another young woman, Lucy Drake, selling her favors–unknowingly to a vampire–to help pay off her brother’s gambling debts. RT Book Reviews Website writer Jacqui McGugins termed this a “well-crafted page turner with intense sexual situations.”
The “Blood” series continues with Blood Fire, in which the dying Lady Octavia Grenville decides to lose her virginity and in the process gains uncommon powers. “Page’s imaginative character development and an exciting plot are well worth the read,” noted RT Book Reviews contributor Donna M. Brown. The series concludes with Blood Curse. Here the sculptor, Lady Ophelia Black, who appears to kill all that she touches, is initiated into sexual bliss by the vampire, Ravenhurst. “This outstanding entry in the “Blood” series tells of an initiation into pleasures of the flesh in graphic detail,” noted Brown in the online RT Book Reviews.
"Wicked Dukes" Series
Page’s “Wicked Dukes” series begins with Deeply in You, in which Helena Winsome takes on the role of governess to the Duke of Greybrooke in order to gather evidence to show he is a traitor and thus save her brother from going to debtor’s prison. In the event, however, she is overcome by his sex appeal and the Duke provides her all the erotic thrills she can endure. “I thought there was a good mix between the romance and the erotics in this story which is exactly what I want in my erotic romance,” wrote a contributor in the Avon Romance Website. Similarly, RT Book Reviews Website writer Brown noted: “Murder and mayhem go hand in hand with love and deception in this outstanding series starter by Page.”
The second in the series, Deeper in Sin, finds another duke stumbling toward true love. The Duke of Caradon has suffered from impotence since the war in Ceylon, but when he receives just one chaste kiss from Sophie–who wants to become a courtesan–he is highly aroused. Their path to happiness, however, is made more difficult by an ensuing murder in this “interesting story,” as Brown characterized it in the online RT Book Reviews. Deepest Desires of a Wicked Duke finds the libertine, Julian, Duke of Sinclair, getting a second chance at love with Portia, whom his family made him give up years before. “Page’s extremely erotic novel is also a thrilling mystery,” commented Brown in RT Book Reviews Website.
"1920s England" Series
In her “1920s England” series, Page moves away from erotic romance to what she terms historical romantic women’s fiction. The first in the series, An American Duchess, features a American aviatrix heroine, who marries a staid but handsome English duke. Zoe Gifford turns Nigel Hazelton’s life upside down with her independence and vitality. Though she marries Nigel in order to access her own trust fund and thereby help out family finances, Zoe soon finds real love with this British male. “Writing at a sparkling pace, Page gifts readers
with characters who are rich in smart quips and sensitive insights,” commented Kate Campos in Booklist. Similarly, RT Book Reviews Website writer Kathe Robin noted: “Page crafts a vibrant novel and a dramatic love story with strong, well-motivated characters and completely captures the angst and glamour of the era.”
Page once again takes readers back to the Twenties in The Worthington Wife. Here, the American intruder on the staid English is a male, the artist Cal Carstairs who inherits Worthington Park. He is determined to destroy the estate as revenge for his mother, but meets his match in Lady Julia Hazelton, who is determined to bring the place into the modern world as a tribute to her fiancé, killed in World War I. A marriage of convenience ensues, but as mysteries appear and an old curse is laid to rest, Cal and Julia find true love in one another. Campos, again writing in Booklist, felt this this novel offers “plenty of sizzling sexual tension, the trappings of aristocratic luxury, and a whodunnit.” A Publishers Weekly reviewer also had praise, noting, “This work will delight fans of melodramatic period pieces.” Likewise, RT Book Reviews Website contributor Robin observed: “Filled with a large cast of upstairs/downstairs characters, tragedies, shockers and troubles, Page’s novel checks all of the boxes.”
The Club, A Gentleman Seduced, and Escape with a Rogue
Page has also written a number of stand-alone historical romances. The Club is set in the Regency period with the proper widow, Jane, Lady Sherringham, infiltrating an upper-class sex club in order to try and find her missing friend, Delphina, Lady Treyworth. In the event, Jane finds more than she bargained for in this “romantic whodunit is sizzling with chemistry and will keep readers hungrily turning pages,” according to a Publishers Weekly reviewer. Robin also praised this novel in RT Book Reviews Website, commenting, “Not only is the sexual tension powerful and the many love scenes hotter than hot (with BDSM), the mystery and growing romance will keep you riveted too.”
A Gentleman Seduced sees Diana Tiverton looking for a bit of sexual excitement before her wedding. She masquerades as the madam in her sister’s brothel in order to be a voyeur and still maintain her virginity. But the masquerade is threatened not only by Lucian Northcote, Viscount Pembroke, but also by her own fiancé. “Witty, wicked and wonderful describe Page’s Regency-set novel,” commented Smith in the online RT Book Reviews. In Escape with a Rogue, Lady Madeline Ashby frees Jack Travers from prison for a crime he is innocent of. But a prison escape proves easier than gathering the evidence to show his innocence. As the two search for the truth they also fight for their safety and soon build a lasting relationship. “Page has a true winner with this one,” noted online RT Book Reviews writer Sabrina Cooper.

MEET SHARON
Sharon PageNew York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Sharon Page sold her first book, an erotic romance novel A GENTLEMAN SEDUCED, in 2004. Since then, she has published more than 20 novels and novellas, both traditionally through NY publishers (Kensington, Random House, Harlequin), and on her own through self-publishing.
Sharon writes:
Historical romantic women’s fiction (AN AMERICAN DUCHESS)
Erotic historical romance (SIN, DEEPLY IN YOU)
Erotic paranormal romance (BLOOD RED, BLOOD CURSE)
Sensual historical romance (THE CLUB, ENGAGED IN SIN)
New adult contemporary erotic romance (The Yardley College Chronicles series).
Sharon’s books have won many awards including two RT Book Reviews Reviewers Choice Awards, two National Readers’ Choice Awards, the Colorado Award of Romance, and the Golden Quill. Sharon was nominated by RT Book Reviews in 2013 for Career Achievement in Erotic Romance.
She graduated with a degree in Industrial Design (School of Engineering) and worked for years in the structural engineering field. Married, with two children, Sharon now writes almost full time.
Here’s a little of her story and why she writes so many genres:
I’m also a mother of two young children and wife of a terrifically supportive husband. Advised to get a ‘real job’, I studied product design at university, worked for many years in structural engineering, but I always dreamed of a career as an author. Now, I’m happy to say I get to write most days while still working part time in research and development management. And all those years in technical fields gave me a great perspective for writing from the male point of view.
My writing influences are varied. Mysteries were my first obsession. As a child, I devoured the Trixie Belden and Nancy Drew mystery series, and I was addicted to Agatha Christie. In my high school years, I discovered the novels hidden at the back of my parents’ bookshelves. After reading books like ‘Fear of Flying’ and ‘Blue Skies, No Candy’, I decided to write literary erotic stories (despite a certain lack of experience at that point). In pursuit of my dream, I penned some hot coming-of-age books, pounding them out on a clunky manual typewriter with a faded ribbon. But I never actually finished a book.
Finding Romance Writers of America, and my local RWA chapter, was the turning point for me. I’d highly recommend finding a chapter if you are an aspiring romance author. Not only did I learn about the business and craft of writing, I met great writers who have become dear friends. And I became determined to finish a book and sell.
Since I love creating sexy, wicked men who love pleasuring women, I gravitated to writing Regency set historical romances. Deciding to heat up these stories from sensual to erotic, I wrote A GENTLEMAN SEDUCED, which sold to Ellora’s Cave and was my first published novel. But my new identity as an erotic romance author was a carefully guarded secret—I wasn’t quite ready to tell my parents and mother-in-law.
Signing with Kensington’s Aphrodisia line was a whirlwind—my editor emailed two days after receiving my proposal. I had just come out of the hospital with my one-year-old son (it was a febrile seizure and my eternal thanks go to the paramedics and the hospital emergency team, who made sure my little guy ended up fit and well). My “call” ended up being on my answering message. Within one month, I sold 5 single titles and 1 novella to Kensington. At that point I couldn’t keep my secret from my family any longer. Since then I’ve published many books of erotic regency romance, and am launching a new series this year with Kensington: the Wicked Dukes. Book 1, DEEPLY IN YOU, is a June 24, 2014 release.
2014 marks my first foray into a genre I call historical romantic women’s fiction, with AN AMERICAN DUCHESS (to be published by Harlequin’s HQN line), set in England and the US in the 1920s.
AN AMERICAN DUCHESS developed when I became addicted to Downton Abbey. Since I first read the Great Gatsby in high school (years before it was assigned), I’ve been in love with the 1920s. I’ve read everything from Agatha Christie’s 1920s mysteries, to P.G. Wodehouse, to Gatsby, and through my background in product design, I’ve been long hooked on the fashion and design of that period. Women get the vote, start wearing the brassiere (patented in 1914), drive cars and fly airplanes!
I decided to write a romance set in the 20s. I created an American aviatrix heroine, who marries a staid but gorgeous English duke. The novel grew and expanded as I realized how much I wanted to touch on the changes in society and women’s lives during that period. Lots of research went in. I had the perfect excuse to read books on WW1; famous characters such as Zelda Fitzgerald, Edna St. Vincent Millay, heiress Consuela Vanderbilt; and books on the real “Downton Abbey”. Not to mention cocktail menus and cookbooks. Look for AN AMERICAN DUCHESS, Sept. 30, 2014!
As you can see, I am delighted to be writing romance, where I can share the power of love and intimacy with readers.

The Worthington Wife. By Sharon Page. Dec. 2016.448p. HQN, paper, $15.99 (9780373788545).
American artist Cal Carstairs may have inherited stuffy Worthington Park, but his intentions are anything but noble,
especially when it comes to Lady Julia Hazelton. Set on revenge against the Worthington family's role in his dark past,
Cal threatens to ruin the estate that Julia is determined to save. When a mutually beneficial deal of marriage is struck,
their nuptials awaken much more than unexpected and breathless passion. Rumors about the alleged curse of the
Worthington Wife begin to swirl, and they find themselves facing imminent danger at the center of a case about a
mysterious disappearance. In the sequel to An American Duchess (2014), Page returns to the glamor and grit of English
elites in 1925 in a tale featuring plenty of sizzling sexual tension, the trappings of aristocratic luxury, and a whodunnit.
Writing at a more subdued pace than before, Page crafts a delicious balance be tween the instantly sexy Cal and proper
Julia, whose struggle with the allure of becoming a truly modern woman drives the story to a satisfying conclusion.--

Page offers those jonesing for Downton Abbey a supplemental dose of unconventional British jazz age characters in
this vibrant sequel to An American Duchess. Lady Julia Hazelton has poured herself into her charitable work with war
widows since the death of her fiance, the future earl of Worthington. When the new earl, Cal, arrives and promises to
destroy the estate to avenge his lower-class mother, who was spurned by his father's family, Julia feels compelled to
change his mind. As the two grow closer, Julia attempts to expand proper roles for ladies, and Cal realizes the
selfishness of his vengeance. Frustratingly underdeveloped minor characters, including tenants, servants, Julia's other
love interest, and mysterious gangsters from Cal's American past, enter and leave the story with dizzying speed. With
this cast and the additional plot involving the deaths of three possibly murdered local women who strongly resembled
Julia, the work veers dangerously close to overstuffed and uncontrolled. Page manages to hold it together through her
captivating portrayals of Julia and Cal, beautifully capturing the tension between desire and responsibilities and
allowing the two protagonists room to evolve. This work will delight fans of melodramatic period pieces. (Jan.)

The peace and propriety of Nigel Hazelton's English estate is blindsided by the whirlwind that is Zoe Gifford. Zoe is an

but quickly reveals substantial depth in its exploration of such serious subject matters as the effects grief and loss have
on a marriage. Your stomach will dip as you soar through the clouds in an airplane, and you will shiver from the chill
of an icy night of skinny-dipping. An American Duchess is an electric romance novel charged with passion and sure to

mythoughts
Warning: This review may contain spoilers
“An erotic romance with an HEA”
Deeply in You is the first book in the new series The Wicked Dukes by Sharon Page and tells about Helena Winsome who is forced to spy on the Duke of Greyson in exchange for her brother’s debts. She poses as a governess of the Duke’s sister but when she unknowingly captures his attention, she desperately decides to become his mistress instead.
I thought there was a good mix between the romance and the erotics in this story which is exactly what I want in my erotic romance. Initially, we are introduced to Helena, a sister of a newspaper editor who is posing as a governess to try to save her brother and her family. I see her as a strong and independent woman and it showed in the first few chapters. There was a little bit of an about face once she became Grey’s mistress, though. I felt that her strength and independence disappeared as she fell in love with Grey.
Grey is another dark hero and the type that I love. He has been deeply scarred and abused as a child by both of his parents, no less and he views his life as dark. He doesn’t let anyone close to him at all and only keeps mistresses for a short time. That is, until her meets Helena. With Helena, he becomes a changed man and changes for the better.
I also love the Grey’s backstory. Because of an incident involving his younger sister, he is on a mission to save females from abuse and he gets blackmailed by someone who knows that his childhood friend, Lady Blackbriar is pregnant by someone other than her husband. So yes, there are two blackmails happening in the story.
The mystery surrounding the two different blackmails is a little bit confusing. In fact, I hard a hard time connecting the the person who was blackmailing Helena to spy on Grey so that she can find evidence that the Duke has been selling secrets to the French. This was not very well explained and I could not understand why when the Duke didn’t seem to be involved in politics at all. The blackmail between Grey and Lady Blackbriar was a good one but was also a little confusing. By all accounts, he was not spending a lot of time with Lady Blackbriar and could not be suspected as the man who got her pregnant in the first place.
I also had problems with the title and the cover because they don’t feel like a historical romance but a contemporary romance.
I gave this 4 hearts because of the overall romance of the story and not the mystery.

Diana Tiverton is looking for excitement before her wedding day. Her sister's brothel could be the answer. Diana begs her to let her masquerade as the madame so that she can watch to her heart's content without losing her virginity. But she gets more than she bargained for when buff Lucian Northcote, Viscount Pembroke, plays blind man's bluff with a bevy of women. Her enjoyment, however, is spoiled when the next man to play is her fiance.
Lucian is entranced by the changes in the madame, but he's puzzled when the usually unflappable woman runs. When he follows her and discovers Diana, he's helpless to anything but his desire for the betrayed bride-to-be. They enjoy a pleasant interlude of foreplay in his carriage before going to his townhouse. Her plea for him to teach her about the marriage bed culminates in love and passion for Lucian, but Diana's refusal to marry him makes him wonder if she wants to open a brothel all her own.

Page pens a seductive tale of vampires, vampire hunters and a woman who is intrigued by two brothers. Not only is this book a blazing path into forbidden dreams, it's also a story of good versus evil. Readers who revel in Regency romance will welcome this heroine's walk on the wild side.
Vampire hunting can be dangerous. Althea knows this, but that doesn't stop her from helping her father in his quest to free a spellbound vampire from his coffin, a feat that would be more easily accomplished if she didn't have to worry about the erotic dreams of two brothers making love to her in various and delicious ways.
Her dreams become reality when Yannick, a sibling to the vamp they are seeking to raise from the undead, appears at the inn where she and her father are staying. His seductive good looks play havoc with her body and heart. When his now-resurrected brother becomes a pawn of good and evil, both Yannick and Althea are thrown together in a variety of situations and positions. (Aphrodisia, Jan., 304 pp., $12.95)

This new chapter in the Blood Red and Blood Rose world is a must-read for fans of the series. The sex is imaginative considering the constraints Page has placed on the heroine. Fortunately, the two hunky supernatural heroes are more than up to the challenge! Readers may be disappointed that the novel furthers the stories of characters from the other books in the series as often as it does. Still, you're likely to be satisfied by the end result.
